Nigel Rees and Peter Debney from Oasys kicked off our series of presentations with an in depth look at OASYS structural software solutions. Oasys Limited is the software house of ARUP and has been established since 1976 and are committed to providing high quality software and support.
The main focus of the presentation was around GSA which has a comprehensive two way link with Revit Structure and can form an intergral part of a Structural BIM solution. Nigel and Peter also presented ADC which analyses and designs reinforced concrete elements and AdSec which is for sections under load.
The presentation was completed with a quick round up of OASYS geotechnical and structural tools.
Ralph Pullenger of Autodesk gave an excellent overview of AutoCAD Structural detailing for the generation of RC drawings and schedules that are getting close to conformance with BS8666. Many of our customers are unaware that AutoCAD Structural Detailing (ASD) is included with the Revit Structure Suite and could make good use of the RC module for the creation of RC details. Ralph ran through the process of integrating ASD with Revit and Robot Structural Analysis and also showed how to output bar bending schedules.
